Dear Fonero:

I just wanted you to know that the Fonera 2.0 WiFi router is launched! When Wired heard the news they said, "...this is fantastic, exactly what a router should be doing." Cory Doctorow from BoingBoing said the Fonera 2.0 is "...a router far more featured than the most expensive access point you can get in the shops, costing a fraction of the price and based on entirely free firmware."

What is the Fonera 2.0? Other than a social router that allows you to share some bandwidth with other Foneros and roam the world for free, it is a router that downloads your torrents, your files from RapidShare, Megaupload, and that uploads your videos to Youtube, your pictures to Facebook, Picasa, or Flickr all on its own. You can do all these tasks in a simpler, more environmental fashion. Let your Fonera 2.0 do the file transfer while your PC does more important stuff, is turned off, or is away from home with you.

If you have any recommendations on new features that you would like to see in the Fonera 2.0 or are a developer and would like to write more apps do not hesitate to write to me. You may order your Fonera 2.0 here

Enjoy,

Martin Varsavsky
