Kubuntu

  • Installed via Netshield
    • By default the network manager is not working
    • I advise to deinstall the network manager and install wicd manager
    • It can perfectly see all networks (myplace & fon_free_internet)
    • Connecting to fon_Free_internet works great!
    • Connecting to MyPlace gives a "encryption needed"...currently not yet found out how to work

Universal Command Line

  • killall Networkmanager
  • sudo ifconfig wlan0 down
  • sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid "MyPlace"
  • sudo iwconfig wlan0 key s:your_wpa_passphrase
  • sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
  • sudo dhclient wlan0 
that should get you connected
