On a public Hotspot there must be some kind of authentication. This normally is done through a login on an HTML Webpage (like the FON captive portal). On a small mobile device, this is not really comfortable. So there are small programs you can install on your device that will make the login process quicker and more comfortable. These are called Connection Manager. On this page we present you the available Connection Manager for FON Spots for different devices. Skype-FON Phone
This Skype-certified software, allow you connect automatically and make calls through any FON Spot around the world.
Officially we only support the SMC WSKP100, which is available in our shop, but users have reported it to work on the following which are technically identical

Installation Procedure

For Nokia Phones (Symbian 60 V3 series)

Your WiFi Nokia telephone has to have the Symbian 60 V3 series installed in order for it to work correctly and be compatible. This is a list of compatible Nokia cell phones we tested. The FON WiFi Connection Manager works with all the phones that are compatible with S60 v3.

If you have Symbian 60 v3 already installed but your phone doesn't appear in the list, you can install the most similar to your model but we cannot guarantee that it will work. The correct function of the phones that figure on the list have been tested directly by FON.

iPhone / iPod Touch
- iFON is a Connection Manager for liberated iPhones from FON Labs. In the Jailbreak Installer go to the Network section and install iFon. More about iFON
- Make sure you install the App.installer and not Cydes, the latter doesn-t have that much 3rd party software in it's repository!
- DISCLAIMER : This version currently only works on Firmware 1.x of the iPhone. It will not function on the iPhone 3G nor upgraded iPod Touch/iPhone which are upgraded to Firmware 2.x. A New version is underway which will be offered in the SHOP as well!
