DDNS Configuration
From FON Wiki Beta
You have to set the Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service of the Fonera when you want to have access to its services (FTP, Torrent, WebGUI, etc.) from the internet. It is especially useful when your ISP does not provide a static IP for your line, as you will always be able to access your home from the internet when typing your DDNS domain (eg: fonera.dyndns.org).
DDNS Service Configuration
The Fonera supports the DDNS service provided by DynDNS.com you have to create a (free) account to be able to use this service.
To allow your Fonera to send its public internet IP to DynDNS.com, you have to configure the following:
- Service: Select 'dyndns.org' if you want to unable the service.
- Username: Type the user name of your DynDNS.com account.
- Password: Type the password of your DynDNS.com account.
- DNS: Type the DNS that you created from your DynDNS.com account (eg: fonera.dyndns.org).
Notes:
- To access the different applications available in the Fonera from the Internet, you will have to enable their access from WAN in the Firewall menu (configuration of your broadband router might be needed in that case).
- The Dashboard is available through port 443 (and not 80). To access it from the Internet you will have to use "https://" and not "http://" i.e.: https://mydyndns.ath.cx
