Short Introduction: The city Emmer-Compascuum lies between the Dutch cities Drenthe & Groningen and Germany It's not possible for the common people to get broadband access unless you are a company and that's what the organisator of Wireless Emmer-Compascuum did. He installed 4 x 8mbit adsl and 2 x 8mbit cable broadband and he's now sharing this broadband via wifi using an 18 meter high pole equiped with the most advanced wireless antennas (and FONeras) to equip everyone in the region with broadband internet access.
Remarkable : This project shows it's possible to make a wireless FON connection over 9 KILOMETER DISTANCE.
