This page intends to document advanced usage of La Fonera 2.0

Due to the fact that

• the La Fonera only has 1 usb port (but a chip for 4);
• Fonosfera team recommends a powered USB 2.0 hub to get most USB working without locking up FON's USB port.

• Disclaimer 1 : The following involves opening your Fonera 2 and thus breaking your warranty!!!
• Disclaimer 2 : YOU BREAK IT YOU PAY IT!

Fonera2 equiped of a 4 port Usb-Hub by Danicasti

Note the capacitor moved to make room to hub

The usb cable is direct soldered to the usb out of the F2

The usb hub is fixed with a biadhesive sheet to the cover of F2

The power is taken from the usb port of the F2, so the power of F2 provides the power demand also to Hub. In the case of high demands for power should be replaced with a power supply adequate power. Currently we connect two pendrive and a webcam and its ok!
