Built in DHCP server for this network segment.
No encryption; a captive portal to which users are redirected for authentication is used instead, allowing access to anyone.
Completely isolated from private WLAN and ethernet.
Limited internet access until user is authenticated as FON user.

This is the part of the La Fonera supporting the entire FON idea: allowing Foneros to share their broadband without compromising their privacy.
