FON Labs is an initiative created by FON Wireless Limited that currently offers beta applications and tools to improve users' IT experience.

• FON GTalk Facebook Status updater a new tool that allows you to quickly and easily change your Facebook status directly from Gtalk.

• FONBackup a multi-platform software (Windows/Mac/Linux)that allows you to sync one of your computer folders with your Gspace account. Of course, you can still use the "I lost the file" excuse, but with FONBackup your important stuff can be safely backed up or portable in your Gmail account.

• FON Gets Simple allows you to convert all of those long, impossible-to-remember URLs into short, easy-to-remember URLs that make your Internet travels simple: FON GS

• FON UPLOADER addresses one of the biggest drawbacks of Gmail. Gmail, like your girlfriend/boyfriend, seems to want to believe that you have no past. Gmail starts from scratch offering you no way to import old emails to your new Gmail account. FON Uploader solves this problem by allowing you to now search both your past and your present emails. Import your old emails to your Gmail account with FON Uploader.

• FON WIT a new tool that FON Labs is developing to allow you to chat and be the smartest guy on the block at the same time. FON Wit is a Skype add on that will perform word searches when you pass the cursor over an unknown term that appears in the conversation.

• FON SPOT

A software that converts your Mac or Linux PC into a FON Spot. Then you can share WiFi at home and everywhere you take your PC. Everyone will want to be your friend as you become a traveling FON Spot.

• iFON If you have a liberated iPhone you can now go to Installer, Network and install iFon. iFon is an app that autoconnects you to Fon so if you are moving around areas that are heavily populated with Fonspots your iPhone begins to treat WiFi as if it were Mobile disconnecting and autoconnecting from Fonspot to Fonspot. While the process of connecting and disconnecting is worse than that of mobile networks the throughput that you get is much greater and is free. Get more info here.
