Access to File Browser
When a partition of a USB drive is available for file browsing, the icon on your dashboard changes. Just click on this icon to start browsing your files.
To get access to the file browser from the Internet you will have to unable WebGUI access from WAN in the Firewall menu (configuration of your broadband router might be needed in that case).
File Browser Usage
Choose a Partition to Browse
If more than one partition is available for browsing, the first step will be to choose which partition you will browse. See Configure USB Disk menu to change the options and name of each partitions.
Interact with your Files
The browser allows you to interact with the files present in your USB drive. Each file type that can be use by a service installed on your Fonera will feature the corresponding icon. For example a YouTube icon appears in front of a video so you can directly upload it to YouTube, a Torrent icon appears on .torrent files so they can directly get queued by the torrent client, or a 'play' icon appears in front of playlists and MP3 so the Fonera is able to play them directly with its music streaming application.
Open or Download Media Files Within you Web Browser
When clicking on the name of a a folder, Fonera's file browser will open it. In the same way, when clicking on the name of a file your web browser will open it. If it is a file type that it doesn't support (eg: a .doc file) it will ask you whether you want to download and open it with an external application. But if it is a file that your web browser is able to open, (eg: a .txt, a .jpg, a .wav, a .avi, etc.) it will open it itself and stream its content. With the adequate file browser you will for example be able to stream media from your Fonera.
