Fonera Downloader is a Firefox add-on that allow you to monitor and add downloads to your Fonera.

Specifications


Installation

  • Using Firefox, download the latest version from http://download.fonosfera.org/software/ Just click on the link (i.e. foneradownloader-0.0.14.xpi)
  • A button named 'Allow' appears, click on it and install the plugin.


Configuration

When Firefox restarts the add-on menu will be opened, click on Preferences to configure the Fonera Downloader:

  • Password: Enter the password that allows you to access the dashboard of your Fonera (default: admin)
  • Fonera Address: Enter the IP address of your Fonera.
    • If you are directly connected to the Fonera (Private signal or cable) 'fonera' will work
    • If you connect from the WAN side of the Fonera, to your broadband router for example, enter the WAN IP of your Fonera there.
    • If you want to control your Fonera from the internet enter the external IP of your internet line or your dyndns domain.
  • In account tab enter your Rapidshare and/or your Megaupload details. No details are needed for http or torrent downloads.

Add downloads

  • You can right click on a .torrent link or any type of download links and select to send it to the Fonera for download.
  • When you click on a download link a third option appear. You are now able, either to download the file on your computer, open it, or download it with the Fonera.

Use link parser

  • You can as well select a set of plain text links (direct links, RapidShare or MegaUpload links) and right click on them, then select Download with the Fonera. You can as well right click on a web page and select Find links for fonera.
  • A window will pop-up with all links/images the page contains so you can use filters (images, movies, music, torrents, rapidshare and megaupload) to choose the ones to download.
  • These filters can be edited from the about:config page in Firefox. You need to type about:config in Firefox address bar to access it. Type foneradownloader' as a filter so you have direct access to parser configuration.

Manage and retrieve downloads

  • Click on Fonera Downloads in Firefox status bar to open the status window. The status of all your downloads are reported there in real time.
  • Right click on a download to start, pause, or cancel it.
  • Completed download will appear in their respective folders on the storage device attached to the Fonera (Hard Drive, Pen Drive, etc.). Use the Web base File Browser, the FTP or the Windows Network Share protocol to retrieve them

Although Fonera Downloader's main features should work with Firefox 3.0.x you might face little issues with the parsing functionalities. If so try to upgrade to Firefox 3.5.x.
