  • Files ending with .image are to be used when flashing from ssh or fonflash.
  • Files ending with .tar.gz are made to flash from the Web interface.
  • DEV stands for developer images.
  • USER for end user images.

For firmware update instructions, checkout this page.

Developer Mode

For each firmware we provide an 'end user' and a 'developer' image. Developer images provide additional features:

  • The possibility to access the Fonera using the ssh protocol.
  • To install third party plugins, that are not in our plugin repository.
  • Some beta features are available in the development version of the firmware before making their way to the main firmware.

Developers Community

  • If you have good reason to not make your communication public, you may contact directly the developers writing to fonera20 [] fon.com Keep in mind that most of the time the mailing list will be more useful as the answers will be public and can benefit to other developers.
