BITTE NICHT INTERNET EXPLORER BENUTZEN: Bei der ersten Inbetriebname der Fonera 2.0, wird
der Internet Explorer nicht richtig mit der werksseitig installierten Firmware derFonera 2.0 funktionieren
Nutze daher beim der ersten Verbindung mit der Fonera einen alternativen Browser, z.B.: Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.

Die Fonera 2.0 auf die neuste Firmware Version aktualisieren

Wir empfehlen eindringlich die Fonera 2.0 auf die aktuellste Firmware Version (Software der Fonera 2.0) zu aktualisieren sobald Du sie das erste mal in Betrieb nimmst. Dadurch ist sicher gestellt, dass die meisten bekannten Fehler beseitig wurden und Du Zugriff auf alle verfügbaren Funktionen hast.

Das Upgrade auf die aktuellste Firmware-Version ist sehr einfach:

Installation

• 1.1.1 Verbinde die Fonera 2.0 über den weißen Ethernet Port mit Deinem ADSL/Cable Modem oder Router.
• 1.1.2 Schliesse die Fonera an den Strom an und warte ca. 2-3 Minuten bis die WLAN ('wireless') LED angeht.

Vergewissere Dich, dass die Fonera 2.0 Zugang zum Internet hat

Für die Aktualisierung braucht Fonera 2.0 braucht die Fonera einen funktionierenden Zugang zum Internet. Die Internetverbindung passt, wenn die ?Power' LED der Fonera 2.0 grün ist. Wenn die LED auch nach mehreren Minuten noch orange ist, bedeutet das, dass die Fonera nicht über eine funktionierende Internetverbindung verfügt.

Mögliche Ursachen:

• 1.2.1 Solltest Du nur über ein reines DSL Modem (kein Router) verfügen, und normalerweise ist eine PPPoE Einwahl von Deinem PC aus notwendig, dann wirst Du die Fonera im PPPoE Modus konfigurieren müssen. Beachte auch, dass einige deutsche Provider wie Alice oder Arcor Router ausliefern, bei denen die diese Konfiguration auch notwendig ist.
• 1.2.2 Wenn in Deinem Heim-Netzwerk kein DHCP Server läuft und Du statische IPs nutzt, konfiguriere die Fonera im 'statischen IP Modus'.
• 1.2.3 Bei einigen Cable Modems wirst Du folgendes machen müssen.

Update to the latest firmware

• 1.3.1 Connect to the Fonera 2.0 using the black Ethernet port, or connecting to the private WiFi signal, named MyPlace (the WPA passphrase is the S/N written beneath your Fonera 2.0). Make sure you are only connected to the Fonera (no cable connected to your router while connected through WiFi for exemple)
• 1.3.2 Open your navigator (Firefox, Safari, not Internet explorer) and type http://fonera or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
• 1.3.3 Abort the wizard, as all configurations will be lost after the update.

Click on the Application menu

• 1.3.4 Go to the application menu, the password is "admin"

Click on "Firmware Upgrade to 2.2.5.0"

• 1.3.5 Click on the "+" sign in front of "Firmware Upgrade to 2.2.5.0"
• 1.3.6 Wait a few minutes until the application gets installed. The page reloads and prompt "Application was installed".

Click on the Upgrade icon

• 1.3.7 Go back to the dashboard, an Upgrade icon is now displayed.
• 1.3.8 Click on "Upgrade". You will have to wait 30 minutes so your Fonera update, during this time do not disconnect the Fonera from it's power supply, it might damage it's firmware.
• 1.3.9 When the process is completed the Fonera 2.0 reboots and the wireless LED turns ON.
• 1.3.10 Connect again to the Fonera 2.0 and visit http://fonera or http://192.168.10.1 (this time you can use Internet explorer if you like) and follow the wizard.
• 1.3.11 Remember to register your Fonera 2.0 so will be able to connect to all FON Spots around the world for free!

Expert Mode (alternative upgrade method)

Only recommended for experienced users

If you don't have Internet connection with your Fonera 2.0 (i.e. if PPPoE or static IP settings are needed), you can also manually upload the Firmware. This is also the way to switch to the developer firmware version of the Fonera 2.0.
