Internet Explorer non funziona correttamente con il software di fabbrica della Fonera 2.0
per la prima connessione alla Fonera 2.0
per favore utilizza qualunque altro browser, come ad esempio: Firefox, Safari, Chrome, ecc.
Utilizza un HUB Usb 2.0 alimentato per connettere periferiche USB alla Fonera 2.0
Evita problemi dovuti a alimentazione insufficiente
e permette di collegare contemporaneamente più dispositivi alla Fonera 2.0

Aggiorna la Fonera 2.0 con l'ultimo firmware

Ti consigliamo vivamente di aggiornare la tua Fonera 2.0 con l'ultimo firmware (il software della Fonera 2.0) non appena la ricevi, in modo da utilizzare tutte le funzionalità e correzioni fin'ora apportate.

Aggiornare il firmware è molto semplice:

LED - Fonera 2.0

Installa la Fonera 2.0

  • 1.1.1 Connetti la porta Ethernet bianca della Fonera 2.0 al tuo modem o router ADSL.
  • 1.1.2 Collega l'alimentazione e aspetta 2 o 3 minuti, in modo che il LED wireless si accenda.

Verifica che la tua Fonera 2.0 acceda a Internet

La tua Fonera 2.0 deve poter accedere a internet per l'aggiornamento all'ultima versione del firmware. Controlla che il led Power sia di colore verde: in questo caso la Fonera comunica correttamente. Se il LED rimane color arancio dopo qualche minuto dall'accensione, significa che la Foner anon riesce ad accedere a internet.

Possibili cause:

  • 1.2.1 Con alcuni modem via cavo può rendersi necessario seguire questa procedura
  • 1.2.2 NEl caso si disponga solo di un modem ADSL (e non un router) e per connettersi a internet di solito occrre affattuar euna autenticazione (PPPoE), prova a seguire le istruzioni relative al PPPoE.
  • 1.2.3 Se la tua rete di casa richiede l'utilizzo di un IP Statico, segui le [Static_IP_mode|istruzioni]] per configurare la tua Fonera 2.0

Update to the latest firmware

  • 1.3.1 Connect to the Fonera 2.0 using the black Ethernet port, or connecting to the private WiFi signal, named MyPlace (the WPA passphrase is the S/N written beneath your Fonera 2.0). Make sure you are only connected to the Fonera (no cable connected to your router while connected through WiFi for exemple)
  • 1.3.2 Open your navigator (Firefox, Safari, not Internet explorer) and type http://fonera or http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
  • 1.3.3 Abort the wizard, as all configurations will be lost after the update.


Click on the Application menu


  • 1.3.4 Go to the application menu, the password is "admin"


Click on "Firmware Upgrade to 2.2.5.0"


  • 1.3.5 Click on the "+" sign in front of "Firmware Upgrade to 2.2.5.0"
  • 1.3.6 Wait a few seconds until the upgrader application gets installed. The page reloads and prompt "Application was installed".


Click on the Upgrade icon
  • 1.3.7 Go back to the dashboard, an Upgrade icon is now displayed.
  • 1.3.8 Click on "Upgrade". The upgrade process last 30 minutes, during this time do not disconnect the Fonera from it's power supply, it might damage it's firmware.
  • 1.3.9 When the process is completed the Fonera 2.0 reboots and the wireless LED turns ON.
  • 1.3.10 Connect again to the Fonera 2.0 and visit http://fonera or http://192.168.10.1 (this time you can use Internet explorer if you like) and follow the wizard.
  • 1.3.11 Remember to register your Fonera 2.0 so will be able to connect to all FON Spots around the world for free!

  • 1.4.1 When clicking on the register button you have to enter your FON credentials (email and password). If you are forwarded to your My FON user zone, logout from fon.com, get back to the Fonera dashboard and click on the register button again.
  • 1.4.2 After entering your credential, fill out all required fields on the registration form by entering your Country, Region, etc. You can use the map to drag and drop the FON Spot exactly where it is.



Expert Mode (alternative upgrade method)

Only recommended for experienced users

If you don't have Internet connection with your Fonera 2.0 (i.e. if PPPoE or static IP settings are needed), you can also manually upload the Firmware. This is also the way to switch to the developer firmware version of the Fonera 2.0.
