To get started with your brand new Fonera you will need to plug it to your internet access, eventually to update it to the latest firmware and finally to register it (i.e. association of the Fonera with your FON account).

If I don't register the La Fonera: You will not get the Linus or Bill status, so you don't have roaming privileges on other FON Spots. In addition the first Fonero logging in your FON Spot, will get the router assigned to his account (and get the roaming instead of you).

(This is not the case if you choose NOT to share your Wifi with FON and thus also revoke your free roaming rights)
