Congratulations!
We are happy to inform you that you have been selected to become part of FON's FONHero Project.
You may be wondering what this Project is and what sort of benefits you'll get
from becoming a FONHero. First and foremost you've been accepted into a select
international team of users who will have the chance to participate with FON and
the FON Community worldwide, and get personally involved in the "Movimiento".

Blog

And for the "Fonero of the month award" that will definitely be launched sometime this year (probably Q4).
In fact, it's an idea that surfaced earlier in January on the French boards and then picked up by the French
FON Team. The award will probably be called the "FonHero Award" (pronounced FON-heero) and will be in the
form of a cool WiFi gadget. More info soon...

Boards

FonHero is separate from the beta testers program. It's going to be about
helping other Foneros on the boards with tecnical questions etc.
That's all I know at this time.

Location of FONheroes

  • When someone becomes a FONhero;
    • All his Foneras listed on maps.fon.com will be replaced by the Fon Hero icon.
    • Devices registered afterwards will not get the FONhero logo
    • a FONHero logo is allways showed as RUNNING... although they can be disconnected for months
    • maps.fon.com does not help you localise a FONhero... you have to pinpoint a village at close detail and hope the fonhero logo shows. There are only 39 Fonheroes to date...
  • on [1] you can export a total list of FONspots where the last column shows the type of fonspot..
    • FNH means FON Hero...
    • In January 2009 there were 39 Fonheroes registered.
