Guidelines for translations
From FON Wiki Beta
Preamble
First of all, many thanks to all Foneros helping with bigger a or smaller contributions to create this FON Wiki.
We don't want to give you hundreds of rules. We only ask you to to read and follow this guidelines, so everybody gets its benefits out of the Wiki.
To find pages where the translation, or part of it, is missing, just check the 'Missing Translation' category of your language. Category lists are available in the 'Special Pages' in the left menu. i.e. for French http://wiki.fon.com/wiki/Category:FR:Missing_Translation
How to
- English is the main language of the FON Wiki - What does that mean?
- If you translate a page please try to get the nearest possible to the original, so no important points get lost.
- New pages in other languages are created appending '/country code' (i.ex. .../de) on the end of the English page title. So the German 'Main Page' is 'Main Page/de'.
- If you add Information to any translated page, please ad this information to the English page (if you can).
- Elements all FON Wiki pages should have...
- Every Article is part of a language category. We will insert this information in the first line, in the Wiki it's displayed at the end of the page.
[[Category:EN]]
- If the all translation or part of it is still missing, add the following warning template. If you finish the translation, delete it.
{{Missing Translation}} or {{Missing Translation/country code}} at non English pages
- If you upload non English screen shots, please append the country code to the file name (for ex. ..._de.png for a German screen shot).
