Internet Provider Caiway provides Internet (through its own Cable-TV network) in certain regions in The Netherlands.
Usage of La Fonera with Cablemodem and own router
When you use a cablemodem and an own router you will only have to connect the La Fonera to a free LAN-port on the router.
Usage of La Fonera without a router
If you will be using the La Fonera as your first router, directly connected to the cablemodem please follow these steps:
- Connect the La Fonera to the Ethernet- or LAN-port of the cablemodem .
- Reset the cablemodem bij a powercycle of 10 seconds. (ATTENTION: don't forget this step)
- Configure the La Fonera to PPPoE.
- Fill in for the username for the PPPoE the complete short emailadres provided by Caiway (example: yourname@caiway.nl or yourname@kabelfoon.nl),
- Fill out hte password that comes with that emailaddress.
