Our Support Team member will assign the router to the new account. You will have to register it again after that. As it's already assigned to your account, you simply have to log in at www.fon.com and you will get presented the register form for your La Fonera.
Some other things to keep in mind:
- We don't want to tell you the email you should use. But if you have to change the email because you changed the ISP or job, think about using a freemail provider, so you won't lose this email again.
- Remember you can use Gmail addresses without logging in at the FON Spots.
PayPal accounts with dash("-")
If you try to register a Fonera as Bill with a PayPal account including a dash (like name-surname@me.com) you will get an error message. Sorry for that, but there is an easy workarround:
- Register as Linus
- When the registration finished, goto "MyFON > My Personal Info > Change FON Profile". Here you can change your status and the PayPal account with dash will be accepted.
Missing text boxes in the registration form
Some of the text fields and drop down boxes of the registration form are dynamically loaded, depending on the data you provide before (like country). Seems, that this sometime doesn't work. We are aware and we already work on a much more simple registration form.
What can you do if this happens to you?
- Clear your browser cache and restart the browser
- Fill in the from from top to bottom - some fields are checked immediately - wait till the green symbol appears beside.
- If all this does not have succeed, please try with another browser and/or PC.
Already registered La Fonera + appearing with a non-registered status in the management console
A La Fonera + that has been manually reset it will display a warning message indicating it hasn't been registered yet, even if it has been registered already. If you have already registered it please disregard this message since it continues to be registered to your account.
The MAC Address online is slightly different to the one found on my router
If you look at your router information in your My FON: user zone at fon.com, you will notice that the MAC ID is different (last number) than the one found at the bottom of the router.
This is nothing to be worried about. Both MAC IDs are associated with the same router. The MAC ID in your My FON: user zone is associated with the FON_ signal. This MAC ID includes information such as who has connected to your FON Spot, which FON Spots you’ve connected to in the past, and your FON Spot’s status.
The MAC ID found at the bottom of your La Fonera router refers to the LAN port and is assigned to your purchase and warranty information. We use this MAC ID when you request a refund, replacement, or anything else involving the FON Shop.
My FON Spot is not being displayed on the FON Maps
If for any reason after registering the router its not showed in the maps tool go to MyFON > configure FON router and then simply drag and drop your spot through the supplied map and save the changes.
Changing WiFi mod from 'b/g mixed' to 'b only' does not work
Sorry, that's right. :( We know the issue and will work to solve it on one of the next firmware updates. There should not be many mobile devices needing such a configuration.
