Neufbox 4 with FON Feature activated emit a pubic WiFi signal named 'Neuf WiFi FON'. You can locate them on FON Maps. Neuf WiFi FON Captive Portal gives you the possibility to log in with your Neuf ID or with your FON account. Depending of the type of FON account (Alien, Linus, Bill) you have the method is slightly different.
Connect to Neuf WiFi FON
Fonero Linus or Bill
You have to select 'Fonero' in the drop down menu, accept the terms of use and to log in with your FON account (email and password). Voilà you have access to the Internet for free!
Fonero Alien or no FON account yet
- You have to click on the red button in the FON area, you will reach a page where you can log in or create a FON account with just a few clicks.
- Then you will be able to use or buy a pass by SMS or Click&Buy.

Troubleshooting
My FON user refused
- Make sure you are logging in with your email and password from FON.
- You should also check that you are connected to a 'Neuf WiFi FON' signal, and not a 'Neuf WiFi' one. On Neuf WiFi there no drop dow menu to select 'Fonero'. Screen shot of the Neuf WiFi FON is above.
- Only Linus and Bill Foneros can access Internet from Neuf WiFi FON for free, Aliens need to click on the buy button to buy or use passes.
I am a Bill/Linus connected to a Neuf WiFi FON but my FON user is refused
To connect to a Neuf WiFi FON signal you have to select 'Fonero', to accept the terms of use and to log in with your email and password. If in that case your account is still rejected you should login with your email and password on fon.com (you can access fon.com from any Neuf WiFi FON signal):
- If you are able to log in on fon.com: Check out that you are Linus or Bill and change your password 'My Personal Info', go back to Neuf WiFi FON captive portal. Then you should be able to log in.
- If you are told: 'Email or password invalid', click on 'Forgot your password?' to retrieve it.
I just bought a pass on a Neuf WiFi FON signal but I can't access the Internet
If you are redirected to the captive portal just after purchasing a pass or using a pass/code (see screenshot), you just need to log in again. If the purchase/use was successful, you will get instant access to Internet. If at any moment during time of your pass you are redirected to the captive portal, just log in (email and password, selecting fonero).
I am redirected to the captive portal while my pass isn't finish yet
If at any moment within the time or your session you are redirected to the captive portal, just log in. If your session is still running or if you are a Linus/Bill, you will have again access to the Internet.
I don't find how to use a pass in My FON user zone
You can't use passes from your user zone on a NEUF WiFi FON signal. You will have to go to the captive portal (see screen captures above) to buy or use a pass.
I can't check my email or use an instant messaging software
From a Neuf WiFi FON signal you are only allowed to surf on the web. That's why you can't check your email with you favorite email client (outlook, thunderbird, evolution, mutt, etc.) or use you regular chat protocol (MSN, ICQ, skype, jabber, IRC, etc.)
