  • XBOX

Install XBMC [1] on your original XBOX. XBOX is connected via LAN cable to LAN port.

    • Now you can have the XBOX connect to your HD. Connect to 192.168.10.1. Username should be fonero, password is the password you set for your fonera. With XBMC, you now can watch video's and show pictures all stored on your HD. Loading avi works fine. Loading DVD (.vob) takes a little while (10-15 sec.) But once it streams, it works fine.
    • You can enable "samba via WAN" under settings -> Firewall if you don't want to connect the Xbox to the LAN port of your Fonera. Make sure you configure the dhcp of your router to give your fonera a "fixed ip" and use that fixed ip on your Xbox. Only on the LAN or wireless MyPlace does the La Fonera listen to 192.168.10.1
    • Please note that the XBOX is not capable to run HD quality. From the XBOX to your tv it is all analog - scart - S-video quality.
    • Xbox High Definition AV pack is needed to have 720p resolution. Using Linux it's even possible to get 1080i; The CPU of the Xbox classic is not strong enough to decode HDTV mkv files.
