Issues with FON Maps

• The "refine your search" doesn't search...eg if I want to find the closest FONhero, it's not possible; it only shows icons...it does not refine my search as the title indicates
• The Mobile widget exports contains a lot of errors... poi's in the Benelux that are located in Asia and vica versa
• The POI export exports hotspots which are inactive for years and it doesn't show in tomtom
• The OV2 export of tomtom is incorrect; some rows need to be changed to be used in a tomtom! there are guides on the internet to fix this... it would be interesting if FON would FIX theirs so people don't have to perform these steps after each export...

Suggestions for FON Maps

• I'd like to see more categories of public places... get inspiration from eg JiWire and other wifi directories on the net?
• It would be interesting if hotspots would be located using their public ip; so I wouldn't find them at Longtitude 0 & lattitude 0 in the middle of the ocean
• It would be interesting to see some rating of hotspots (does it have had successfull visits of aliens and other foneros) so we know that hotspot actually works...Currently lot's of these hotspots look active but if we go there there is no wifi to be found ... the owner can put their hotspot in another country for instance
• One can not export the public places... I'd like to view all hotels with FON wifi... or find the nearby fon hero... those things can not be done...yet.
• Rating of fonspots... I've visited many and found some not working or totally non-existant on the place that the "owner" mentions... How can I mention this to FON?

• implement a rating system for Fonspots to help others for deciding on where to go online. This should include

Allow users to download Flash player even if they are not logged in

So that someone that has not Flash player yet can download it and watch the video to get the 15 minutes access to the Internet.

Security

• SSL for pages with login: Boards, Wiki, maps etc. Change all links (including those in the Blogs) to the https URL
• When loging in on FON Spot, warn on the risk of data being captured on unencrypted pages

More possibilities for FON Spot personalisation

• I can not write much text in the personalized page... it would be welcome to enlarge it and even show how many characters I can enter

Issues

• If I enter the same user&password in the friends&family; it's plainly ignored... no error is mentioned

Notification email, if a new message arrives at the FON message box

• The possibility to communicate with other Foneros is great - but it's less useful, as the other Fonero many times doesn't get aware about.

Change Email

• possibility to change the email address, or at least the option to add an alternative email for communications.

Transfer Foneras

• Option to transfer a Fonera from one FON account to another

Display revenue for each hotspot

• In "FON WiFi Money" menu: differentiate revenue from each hotspot

Features

Handover

• If I buy more than one fonera...I can hardly use it... hence if I move from one to the other fonera...it will mention I'm already connected to the other fonera and I have to wait until my wifi session ceases to exist on the first fonera! Fonera does not allow roaming! We're punished to buy more than 1 fonera (I live in a very big house) or to use more than 1 wireless device (skype phone, laptop, ...) Using family&friends will not help me when i go outside...the idea of fon was to have access elsewhere!

Repeater function

• Possibility to connect the La Fonera through WiFi to the first router, in stead of having to connect it by cable. It would give users the possibility to place the La Fonera at a better place to give coverage outside.

Bridge between 'MyPlace' and the LAN of the first router

• Possibility to access the PCs in the LAN/WLAN of the first router from 'MyPlace' and vice versa.

Change MAC ID for WAN port

• Some ISP only allow to connect devices with a specific MAC ID. Would be helpful if the MAC ID of the WAN port could be changed.

Disable 'MyPlace' signal

• User with a own WiFi router don't need the MyPlace signal and would like to deactivate it completely

Management Console

• Being able to manage the friends&family functionality
• Acess to a debug mod and or logs

New product

La Fontenna (FON's antenna) with a flat cable

• Ship La Fontenna with a flat cable instead of the regular one.
