Talk:ISP
From FON Wiki Beta
- IN the europe ISP, I believe ZON TV CABO in Portugal should be added because I have received a ZON la Fonera modem from them.
- Feel free to add it to add instruction for this ISP, even if they are really basic

- Inouk : "We Don't own an isp"
- Martin Varsavsky : Today(2007) we are launching fonero.be together with our partners Scarlet and Tidings in Antwerp Belgium. Fonero.be is a new ADSL wireless broadband provider, and by combining their innovative WiFi services with the FON Community, Fonero.be customers and Foneros can easily connect to Internet using WiFi around Belgium and for a discounted price. Pricing for this service is 29.95€ per month for 6MB service. Thanks to teaming up with Fonero.be, and Scarlet as ADSL and voice supplier, the Belgian market will provide a dense network of FONspots that are not only important for Foneros in Belgium but also those who visit Belgium.
- With Fondoo.net, launched in July 2006 the UK has got the first FON-friendly ISP (according to Wikipedia) that explicitly allows sharing of bandwidth either as a Bill or Linus. I spoke with Alan Bell today, the founder of Fondoo.net and he said they have had meetings with FON UK and Germany and "they were pretty positive about it all round". Fondoo.net is privately owned and financed. According to Alan Bell, Fondoo is available everywhere that ADSL is available (ADSL is running on British Telecom lines in the UK). The service starts at £17.99 for a 512k residential package including unlimited download capacity. Business packages are also available.

- Unfortunately the fonero.be initiative was discontinued
