If your FON Spot signal reaches a nearby public place, then here are some simple things you can do to attract more visitors.
- Change the default name of your FON public signal (FON_) for a more appealing neame by choosing one that emphasises its nature for public access to the internet. For e.g. FON_FREE_INTERNET or FON_FREE_WIFI.
- Improve your signal coverage, a good idea is to put your La Fonera next to a window. You may also get an antenna to increase it's coverage i.e. La Fontenna.
- If you live near a cafe, restaurant, or any other public location, point your FON signal in the direction of the public place.
- Set up your FON Spot with a message that invites visitors to connect to your FON signal.
- Let your neighbors know you are sharing your internet signal, you can print the FON Poster image and mail it to them.
- Be sure your La Fonera is always connected and online. You can check its status by going into your userzone
- Install other La Fonera routers at more locations i.e friends houses, relatives, bars, etc.
